Summertime, and the livin's easy
Months of struggling to get some painting and blogging done has finally reached a breaking point. The past week or two, Ive been painting like there is no tomorrow. And here is a big paint update - of things I painted that wasnt a commission for someone else. More heroes, more villains. Lots of cuddly monsters looking for a good boop to the snoot.
Onwards to the pics...
Left to Right: Bulldog the Barbarian, Verbal the Archer
Two new heroes are looking for trouble in Middle Earth. Bulldog is the bruiser and Verbal is the sniper. Villains, beware. Make no mistake. It’s not revenge they're after. It’s a reckoning.
Bulldog, son of Buliwyf knows the song of his people.
Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother.
And my sisters and my brothers
Lo, there do I see the line of my people
Back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them
In the halls of Valhalla
Where the brave may live forever.
Verbal is a man of few words. Strange, considering his name. He does seem to be the man with the plan. And it usually involves lots of arrows.
How do you shoot the devil in the back? What if you miss?
Verbal carries a bow AND a crossbow. Faster fire with a bow, OR armor piercing with a crossbow.
What do you favor, weapons-wise? Oh, you know, it's a toolbox. I don't care, you put the tools in for the job, that's all.
Left to Right: Assassin #1, Master Takeshi, Assassin #2
The Masters of Death have come from Nippon to search for their "Far Easterling" companions - the House of Red Dragons.
Obviously, Master Takeshi never heard the saying that the best sword is the one that is best kept in its sheath.
Another assassin who wants to assassinate the Baby Cart Assassin. Oh did I mention assassin?
I think his Indian name is "Two Swords One Claw". Or it could be his rap name. Wu Tang, dont go against the grain if you cant handle it.
Friends or foes? Bulldog and Master Takeshi sizing each other up.
Left to Right: Cardinal Sin, The Witch King of Angmar, The Harbinger, Death Angel
More Undead elite come to haunt Middle Earth.
Not to be outdone by the recent Cthulhic invasions, the Witch King of Angmar has returned. He promises to Make Mordor Great Again.
The Death Angel is ultra-violence personified.
So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first born Pharaoh son
I'm creeping death
Bring your own beer? Nope. The Harbinger brings skulls. Skulls for the Skull King. Needs moar skulls!
Cardinal Sin wants to hear your confession. It's better to burn out, than to fade away!
Now on to some monsters! How about a big old Wyvern? Come closer dont be shy.
Wyverns are misunderstood creatures they are. People run in fear from them but really all a Wyvern wants is a good belly rub.
And here we have a Nightmare and a Tzeentch-ian Lord of Change.
Yup, its a winged horse thats on fire. And a Skeksis.
When single shines the triple sun, what was sundered and undone, shall be whole, the two made one, by Gelfling hand, or else by none...
A Night Hag and a Marilith
Dont tell her shes hideous! Hell hath no fury like a Night Hag scorned. Marilith is a hottie and she knows it. She sure has a lot of flair - bangles and doodads and whatnot.
Stan: Well, I thought I remember you saying you wanted to express yourself.
Joanna: Yeah. Yeah. Y'know what? I do. I do want to express myself. Ok? And I don't need thirty-seven pieces of flair to do it. (gives him the finger) All right? There's my flair! And this is me expressing myself.
A Swamp Dragon and a Manticore.
Manticore extends his paw in friendship but Swamp Dragon leaves him hanging. Thats cold, buddy. Amity means friendship!
Displacer Cat and a Peryton.
A big cat with tentacles sprouting from its back. And a deer with wings and talons. What strange god or mad wizard created these strange critters? Well, I am happy they exist. Bio-diversity is our greatest strength!
~~~
So there you have it. Lots of new figures to play with. And in a few days another post with.... yet more painted figures! I told you the dam has burst and a deluge of painted goodness is sweeping the blog. And a battle will be played out over the weekend with some earth shaking consequences (Middle Earth shaking, well on my blog at least). Stay tuned, true believers!
Cheers,
Mar
